Quantity Survey

The effective management of cost is a critical factor in the successful delivery of our client’s project objectives and outcomes. We support our clients by providing a proactive, ‘hands-on’ and innovative approach to the management of cost and value at each stage of the development lifecycle.

Our methodology is to actively manage costs, identifying and addressing potential issues early, providing informed advice at the appropriate time to facilitate client control and enable business decisions to be taken with confidence.

We help our clients in the following ways:

Pre-operative

  • Mediate with client and other stakeholders to determine the client’s preliminary requirement and succeeding development of the full abstract.
  • Prepare an initial budget estimate to assess the feasibility of the design proposal
  • Observing cost consequence as the detailed design evolves.
  • Suggest and explore unconventional methods and design to reduce the cost.
  • Provide Proposal and references required with various cost benefit analysis.

Intra-operative

  • Define Prerequisite of contractors to understand their Financial capabilities, Technical capabilities and Past performance etc.,
  • Recommending on appropriate contract bundle, tendering processes, contractual preparations and procurement methods including liaising with the client’s advisers.
  • Preparing and accumulating form and content of the tender documents based on firm Bill of Quantities (BOQ), Contractual preparations, Evaluating, analyzing and reporting on tender compliance, preparing clarification, checklists of uncertainties, participating in discussions of tenderers for the contract, negotiations’, prior to confirmation of an allotment.
  • Supporting in the preparation of agreements and other contract documents for admitting the contract.

Post-operative

  • Studying previous financial advice, events and cash flows based on the tenders received.
  • Provided that project cost control valuations and forecasts of expenses and final cost including cost checks and costs of variation on a regular basis.
  • Instituting standard procedures with the contractor and subcontractor for monthly assessments of progress payment.
  • Organizing monthly assessments for progress payments incorporating materials on site and variations to the contractors for authorization by the consultants in accordance with the contract norms.
  • Reconciliation of all materials supplied by the client.
  • Formulating and approving final accounts integrating the financial implications of claims including negotiations and disbursement of contractual claims.

Costing Officers

Understanding the Commercial and Technical Norms, bill of quantities (BOQ), work order and agreement performed. Based on all the above documents preparing bill abstract with supporting detailed measurements L X B X D sheet, i.e. measurements/quantities arrived for construction drawings given to us, as per the norms of Indian standard – mode of measurements

Audits

Understanding the Commercial and Technical Norms, bill of quantities (BOQ), work order and agreement performed. Including specifications correspondence, bids, contractor records, contract billings, change order documentation etc., and rechecking as per standard mode of measurement and submitting the final report.
